Choose the phrase, then the length
Listen for a beat, breath or pickup before the section you want. At the ending, leave room for the note or room sound to finish. If you need a fixed-length cue, adjust within those musical boundaries rather than cutting through the strongest sound.
Build the shorter version
- Open the song and mark the wanted passage.
- Preview the selected range and refine the start and end times.
- Use Trim to keep the passage.
- Listen again and add a short ending fade if needed.
- Export under a new name and test the clip in its intended player.
For another version, return to the source
Keep the full song when you export a clip. A separate source makes it easier to create a longer or shorter variation without rebuilding audio that has already been discarded. Use only music you are entitled to edit and share.
